Trina and Morning

Trina and Morning

A Poem by Terry Collett

The day began
as it always
did with that deep

tiredness and
blanket-like dull
heavy feeling

and as I stood
at the window
all I wanted

was to sleep more
possibly not
to awaken

anymore to
this kind of day.
The sky was grey

with soft drizzle
and emptiness
seeping through me

and no real light
to pleasure me.
