Enid and No School 1957.

Enid and No School 1957.

A Poem by Terry Collett

Benny knocked
at the door
of our flat
to walk with me
to school.
Mother answered
and said I couldn't
go to school
as I had flu
and he went away.
I didn't have flu
but bruising
and all the colours
from black and green
and a filthy coloured blue.
