Debussy and Memories.A Poem by Terry CollettDebussy is being played on the radio. You slept well and woke up to a bright sun. You remember Lizbeth teasing you as she walked along the fence at school and lifted her skirt to reveal her thigh. You wonder if she teased others after you in the sixty years since. A grey squirrel searches the lawn for food watching out for the cat that often comes. You sit and listen and sip the coffee and watch the sparrows flittter to and fro dive bombing the lawn for cast out bread. You remember Lizbeth and her long ago teasing you inside your ageing head.
