Geoffrey Remembered 2022.A Poem by Terry CollettThe girls passed by the window of the coffee shop as Geoffrey sat sipping coffee and snibbling a buttered scone. One girl walked slowly as if she had eternity to reach her destination. She reminded him of the girl in Hungary back in the day who spoke of defecting to the West, but then didn't show where they had said, and he assumed she, like the rest, had changed her mind or was dead. He watched until she passed the window of the coffee shop and out of sight. He sipped and kept these images to himself like a tainted wealth.
