Lizbeth's Father's Battlefield 1961.A Poem by Terry CollettLizbeth's father has to deal with his wife's mental instability and his thirteen year old daughter's rebellion. He wants calm and balance and a smooth ride through his day to day, but it seldom is. His daughter he calls his ragazza focosa, Italian, but his wife retains, depending on her mood, his dear, and avoids any Italian expressions, unlike his daughter who says to her mother: Mucca miserabile, which he has to interprets as kind mother (and not miserable cow) to keep the peace and calm as much as he can. Even his time in Italy in WW2 was tame compared to this with one female's bite and the other one's hiss.
