CHICAGO OFFICE 1924.A Poem by Terry CollettA GIRL IN AN OFFICE IN CHICGAO IN 1924 AND HER THOUGHTS.
You know you ought to
Over the machine,
The words and figures,
Jefferson left you
Slamming of the door,
To fall to the floor.
Are oblivious
Other than what you
Their own lives to live,
Own pains, hurts and doubts
Work away, your slim
Like some robotic
There, his harsh words, his
Because you didn’t
His selfish sex, and
Is shallow, the low
The air like busy © 2010 Terry CollettReviews
