DENVER 1925.A Poem by Terry CollettTHREE WOMEN IN A DENVER OFFICE IN 1925.
Why my mother went
Said, her legs up on
Knees, some women have
On her lips, giving
Marion sat there
Allowing the words
Around her mind like
Focused on the wide
Sky beyond, Betty’s
Sitting on the desk,
The film, the walk home,
His place but his kid
Husband and having
In the spare room at
Your place and looking
Looking down with one
Squeezed your hand and left,
The moment, if she
Be here, and so all
Laugh she threw back her
Ice stern features there © 2010 Terry Collett |
