EASY KILL.

EASY KILL.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A WOMAN DROWNS HER HUSBAND.

"

She never thought
Killing could be
So easy. Just

Held him under
Long enough till
The last bubble

Came like a soft
Farewell kiss. Warm
Water every

Where; the bathroom
Floor like a small
Pond. He never

Expected that,
The holding down,
The hands gripping

Tight, his head held
Beneath water,
The open mouth

Swallowing and
Choking all out
Of sound’s touch. Now

She sits and drinks
And lets it all
Settle down as

He did after
The small battle.
He lay there in

The bath staring
Up at her with
His vacant eyes;

Death claimed. Water
Held. He will not
Torment her mind

Anymore, not
Beat her up or
Bruise her soft skin.

He is silent
Now, at peace, his
Eyes gazing at

The void. She is
Safe now, at peace,
So overjoyed.
