Grandfather Gill

Grandfather Gill

A Poem by Lady Decaf
"

This is dedicated to a man who treated me as his own, though not a drop of my blood carries his genes. Rest In Paradise, Grandpa Gill.

"
I still see you when I close my eyes,
And the smile I adore,
I see your caring eyes in the stars that pierce the skies,
And see your shadow on the kitchen floor,
I smell your cologne in the winter air,
And hear your laughter in the breeze,
And I portray no emotion...like I'm not lost without you there,
Or that I'm handeling life with ease,
But I'm missing you each day as the years go by and by,
I'm becoming the woman you always said I'd become,
But I'm growing weak and though I try,
To envision you in the Next Kingdom,
It's hard not having you here to guide me,
Or your gentle hands to hold,
And the world is all but stormy,
And the people in it cold,
Oh if I could turn the hands of time to when I had you here,
I'd spend each passing second by your side,
And listen to your laugh so dear,
And memorize your scent while you hold me as I cry,
But you're an angel watching me grow,
But it's painful to let go,
I miss you here and I cry my tears now and then,
I'll keep you in my greiving heart...until we meet again.

About
Hey, I'm Jo. I have been writing poetry since I was 13 as a way to express myself. Along the way it evolved into a passion (obsession?) and a way to meet new people. My poetry topics fluctuate but I d.. more..
