When I was youngA Poem by Rubein GeterminahWork and rewards is the theme expressed in this poem. Yesterday and today are not the same.
When I was young
And my father strong He us to sit and call Us(children) to hunt for treasure (Gray- hairs) during his leisure Day of the week- the Sabbath. If any found, a reward he gave Signaling our time was not vague And our mothers in a pacific cheer Said, 'Chea Morris, you getting old Now', laughter roared followed by tears. But now am strong And my little ones young And have half the hunted treasure A scarcity we hunted for pleasure But they are not having such rewarding fun! © 2017 Rubein GeterminahAuthor's Note
