When I was young

When I was young

A Poem by Rubein Geterminah
"

Work and rewards is the theme expressed in this poem. Yesterday and today are not the same.

"
When I was young
And my father strong
He us to sit and call
Us(children) to hunt for treasure
(Gray- hairs) during his leisure
Day of the week- the Sabbath.

If any found, a reward he gave
Signaling our time was not vague
And our mothers in a pacific cheer
Said, 'Chea Morris, you getting old
Now', laughter roared followed by tears.

But now am strong
And my little ones young
And have half the hunted treasure
A scarcity we hunted for pleasure
But they are not having such rewarding fun!

Yesterday and today are not the same in term of economic earnings.
The differences in class and qualifications make it difficult for many to meet with their social obligations.
