Wishing Upon the Shooting StarsA Poem by The Exiled WolfSometimes stars just don't understand what exactly wishes are.I wished upon the shooting stars I prayed sincerely every night That I would be loved That I would find light Then I acquainted with friends I was greeted with acceptance I thought I had finally found a sanctuary of hope I had at last entered a refuge of benevolence The dream was the sweetest Until hope faded into despair Smiles melted into bitter tears When harm eclipsed care Now I wish upon the shooting stars To revoke my childish prayer Leave me alone in this darkness, please For this is my last wish, I swear © 2016 The Exiled WolfFeatured Review
