Critique on the new black elite.

Is black excellence
The new excuse for excess?
Is it because our access
Was denied
So many times before
That the outcomes of our war
Is WAR.

The war of those previously without
Is now a war waged within.
Where do you fit in?
Why do you now feel the need to?
Why dine in utmost decadence
Only to waste
When your brother needs food?

He dies in famine.
He faces a familiar war
As to yours -
Except,he fights hunger,
You fight your self-depreciation
And inferiority complex,
So the food you need is food for thought.

Think of how the unique
Darkening of your skin
Could not halt your ascendence
Towards excellence -
Yet you let your brother's halt his.
Think of how you feel the need to prove
Yourself to everyone except him,

Then ask yourself -
"Is it really worth it?"
If yes,
Then ask yourself
"Am I really worthy?"
Worthy of what you may wonder?
Being called "Brother" by them.

Thank you for writing this I have felt the similar way about how we segregate each other as a society that's Alone together how most of us would prefer to have spotlight for ourselves instead of bring light into each others lives so we could shine together to be bright no matter who we are or where we come from...I won't say much because you know where I stand with such matters all I will say though is that we need to be the change we wish to see...currently we are alone together, I prefer for us (as mankind) to simply be....together....
