I Loved You Enough To Let You Go

I Loved You Enough To Let You Go

A Poem by Jazz Newport Green

I loved you enough to let you go

I know you feel I let you down.
But my dear friend I built you up.
I refused to let you down.
I loved you in a way so special; O' how you'll never know.
Beloved one, I loved you enough to let you go.

I could never hold onto you for fear I'd hold you back.
I loved you in the fullest, in no way did my love lack.
I didn't put up a front, I simply put up walls.

It was not all for show.
To you I did not wish to get too close.
Too good for you ,I was not at all.
I simply new that soon I'd have to let you go.

I wish in some way I could make you understand.
I did not oppress you,I'm the very one who helped you take your own stand.
I did not crush your heart, your heart just collapsed.

I tried to help you heal, but you did not want that.

I gave you a gift and it was a mirror.
I hope from the depths of my heart that it helped you see you clearer.
I know your heart is hurt and your pain is great,
But I feel pain in a much more and different way,
O' how you'll never know.
You will never understand my love.
Beloved I loved you so much I let you go.
