Cat & Dogs

A simple piece written in reaction to a change in my life, and recounting one recent day specifically. If I use this piece in future it will be heavily re-written and I just wanted to share it for now

And so my darling this is my world
and if you can see now
I hope it makes you proud.

Because I cross the bridge to town
and it’s a long time since I’ve looked down.

It started raining when July came around,
it was falling on the beach
where there are steps and rocks and things
and that place fell quickly out of reach. 

How I wish you’d walked those steps with me.

So my darling now you’ve seen my world
eroding in the light glare of the moon
and I can’t escape it quite so soon.
But maybe you can now you’ve seen it too.
