A Whimsical LandA Poem by LydiaI live in a wild and whimsical forest The limbs of trees brush my arm Pricking my skin with an unusual charm As I wander around the land before us Fallen twigs snap beneath my feet And the darkness develops above my head The moon illuminates the leaf pallette I call my bed As lights flicker in the distance, beckoning for us to meet Meandering around a hidden wonderland In search of something beautiful My discovery shall not be of something pitiful Instead, a piece of a rusted object, old and grand Fireflies dance around in the air While the crickets chirp an inviting song I dream that I will one day sing along Because just like them I will no longer have a care Woodland animals run by me as if in a race I allow myself quiet laughter as I observe them I think about how they are the ones whom I share this utopia, this gem As I twist and turn around this whimsical place..... © 2012 LydiaAuthor's Note
