When I had the devil on my back
They said shake it off

When I was looking for heaven
And found the devil in me
They prayed a little harder

It was hard to dance
It was hard to breathe
And I couldn't shake it off

I learned happiness hurts
Shake it off
I was trampled under the hooves of nightmares
Shake it off
I was buckled and bound
Shake it off

I can't wake up
They said I'd be better by now
I just can't

you are "better" in every word you write...in every new feeling that you pray.....in every instance that you choose to be "better". The world cannot heal you...it cannot save you....it cannot break you....you are the one that controls it. It is said "time heals all wounds", for me it hasnt. "True Love lasts forever", my forever must not be a lifetime. It's all perception....
