The Idiot GeniusA Poem by Matt HooperDaily thought for the average human. The Idiot Genius by: Matt Hooper He wakes up. He watches the sunrise. He smiles. He remembers the previous night. The pain. The same pain, from every night before that. He hurts. He's numb. He doesn't feel a thing. He smiles. He imagines the future. Happiness When, where, how And sometimes... Who? He blinks. He waits for a sign. He has no idea what he's looking for. He figures it out. Happiness....? He smiles.. He knows the pursuit is endless So, he doesn't chase. He waits. He knows.. The only thing he knows Is that he doesn't know anything. He shivers. He watches the sun set the same way a man watches a casket being lowered into the ground. He hurts. Not a physical pain, But pain, none-the-less. He smiles. The sun disappears. He closes his eyes. He sleeps. He dreams. He wakes up and watches the sun rise. Again, he dreams. He smiles.. © 2015 Matt HooperAuthor's Note
