Thine

A short poem I wove into the body of an epic fantasy poem I wrote in the style of concept songs/albums.

Body serpentine coils in sinewy writhe

Scale caressing skin sinuous around your neck

Barbed hook and talon tear at tender flesh

Reddening pearl fang divine

Constrict a feast of thine

Into the belly of the beast

Wrought muscle and bone as twine

I like your use of alliteration throughout the piece, especially the constant "sss" sound that matches the theme of the poem. The structure seems to have some sort of form, though I'm unsure what it is--a snake head? Also, I wondered about the rhyming--did that happen accidentally as you wrote the poem or did you intend to do it from the start? If the latter, I would try to extend it throughout the rest of the poem. Overall, I liked it--keep it up :)

Beautifully graphic........I can close my eyes and see the wrapping and constricting around flesh, tendons flexing.....destroyed, consumed into the belly of this slimmering beast
