Denial of EntryA Poem by Molly
I’ve hushed my self, hidden it away behind a maze of smoke & mirrors. Conversation is never more to be face-to-face exchange. My spirit faces sideways, turns its head, never daring to look yours in the eye. And though you’ll try to find my eyes, to reestablish a connection, I’ll dodge each gaze with a twist of my head, uttering phrases nonsensical to help me ward off the thoughts of you that spring unbidden to the forefront when you are so near. No longer are you allowed inside. All you’re allowed is a mesh façade; you’ll see me, but I’ll be distorted, not whole, and you’ll wish to see my fully, but I’ll deny you, just as you enjoy denying others. © 2008 MollyReviews
