Life's second chance

It took me years as a friend to realize what I feel for you
It was as if you were hiding in plain sight this whole time

I always wondered why it was hard for me to be with someone
Was it me? Was it them?
Why am I this closed person when it comes to others

You know that feeling when your a kid and you meet someone new for the first time and your just to shy to speak
Or the dreams you think of as a kid that seems so seemingly powerful.
Those are the things I get from you
I look at you and it's as if the world stop for that brief moment and for that moment I see your smile that reminds me of a new while.

My heart beats faster and everything I ever wanted in someone just comes out in you
Your smile melts my soul
Your laugh brings me joy
Everytime I see a picture or someone talks about you
My day just gets better
And never could I think of a dessert being wetter.
