Notes to a Lover

Notes to a Lover

A Chapter by DIVYA

"

You are my sugar, my salt, my bread

My Godhead, my watershed

My love, my life

My every poem born and dead

You are the Babel in me that needs

No words, the color of my doom

That sonic boom in me

Which goes forever unheard

You are my Osun, my Ganges

In you I take eternal, unholy dips

You are every absinthal cup

I dread but never fail to sip

You are my submission

My every reason, my perdition

My Dante’s Leopard

The perfect beast of my ruination

You are my rapture, my rupture

My fatal breath sweet

The renewal of all my glands

My every mortal defeat

You are my ruin, the skin

Of my sin, my Maat, My Min

My Gin, my every rabid grin

My every peeve and chagrin

You are my rite, my ritual

My crawl space spiritual

My every spasm, my paroxysm perpetual

You are my end always

Unspoken and eventual...

------------,

Ever the optimist, one can only live in hope .. My word, DIVYA I can only imagine there is one helluva proud and happy fella out there somewhere and probably still blushing if he knows of the existence of these finely stacked words .. I can also imagine there are plenty of wannabee's out there too .. (and I dont mean a posse of Australian marsupials by the way) .. What we have here is more than a mere love poem .. it is indeed a mighty one for sure, but it is also an education .. I thank you for both .. Neville

This is a brilliant piece, the likes of which I haven't read in a long time. You crafted something amazing here. The combination of positive with negative along with phrases that make the reader feel rather than comprehend. You tickled my intellect while twisting my soul.

Oh, what an expressive note to a lover! Though mortal but the surrender of whole body, soul, holiness, and unholiness takes it to another level! It's sublime and beyond human imagination..... As you said rightly ' you are my end always/unspoken and eventual'... Such dedication. I love this poem so so much...

It was my pleasure to read such a beautiful poem Divya..
"You are my Osun, my Ganges

You are every absinthal cup

I am transported to another realm of consciousness in reading your magical and learned words dear DIVYA. Master Class poetry from beginning to end and so filled with kaleidoscopic images and ancient references that it makes my head spin-in a good way! I could never hope to be able to write like this even in my wildest dreams. Analogies, similes, metaphors galore, effective repetition and deft rhyming and cadence. Made my day. Brava and one million claps and bows for this masterpiece...

Beautifully written, DIVYA!!! The rhyme was on point and the analogies were so good!!! Wish I had more words to describe this masterpiece, but for now, while my brain is on vacay, all I can say is I loved it, okay?

oh my, what you came up with here for analogies...amazing.

this was like reading Langston Hughes on speed...
He is so great at similes as well...
in his Dream Deferred

"dry up like a raisin in the sun"
"stink like rotten meat"
or does it explode"

Really strong Poetry, DIVYA.
