Those who are leaving today

Those who are leaving today

A Poem by DIVYA
"

A tribute to Air India's crash victims of today

"

To those who are leaving today

Go with all the good in you.

Let what’s unfinished fall gently

back to the earth.

Take your finest ever flight.

To those who are leaving today

Let go and close your eyes,

Forget the noise of the world.

You are shifting to the stars.

The universe holds you now.

To those who are leaving today

It’s such an abrupt call.

It’s such a sudden flight.

But no one is ever told

The hour stamped on their wings

To those who are leaving today

The chasm awaits you now.

Take the leap of faith.

Let yourself be cradled by God.

Wherever you go, you'll be okay.

To those who are leaving today

As the last of you fades with this day

We'll carry you in silence, in our tears

In the hope of meeting you again.

I was a soldier. I left people and cities. I still miss them.

I liked and I agreed with the above lines. I wrote often. We need less goodbyes and more hellos. Thank you dear friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Be not afraid of death, for death unto life is not unlike the reaping scythe unto the wheat. (excerpt from my fantasy world religion) but then it is applicable anywhere any time. Sow, therefore, only seeds worth thy efforts to reap.

In other words, it's tragic and I wish it upon no one, but at the same time... It's inevitable and... We each take this risk, knowing or otherwise.. To live is to accept that one day, it will end. Unexpected or otherwise... It'll end... But also, thank the heavens for that, because who wants to be a bag of fragile flesh and bone forever?

So good to see you back! Yet under terrible circumstances...I saw the tragedy on TV this morning and was heart broken...I feel for every one of those poor souls and the ones on the ground....so horrific.. hard to digest...may your country heal as time passes and may those souls who left us today rest in peace....
