Let them fight it out first??

He said....

We must fight it out first- 

to be true friends, or informed allies 

We must fight it out first.- 

to test each other's arsenal-

all the weapons, we brandish-

also those we conceal.

 

We must fight it out first-

for we need to know how deeply 

we can hurt each other

how we can kill each other-

Irreversibly, irrevocably. 

 

Because the battleground

is not unlike the bedroom -

raw, exposed,

intimate in the bloodiest of ways.

Where we lock limbs

in a bid to trump each other-

where we undress, 

our very deepest parts 

our darkest fears.

 

We must fight it out first-

before we chose to embrace 

or destroy each other completely.

We need to be at war 

We must go to war

before we can know peace-

taste the bitter-sweet fruits

of brotherhood.

Hi Betty...this is a deeply sensitised poem expressing anger and opening to the fact that as humans we can "go to war" with each other sometimes.......

I found it strange when President Trump said, "Let them fight it out first." But perhaps, there's something to what he said. Maybe, they need to destroy those nuclear weapon facilities so that all the world is safe. But I hope they negotiate soon and spare all the innocent lives. This world has enough sorrow already.
