The Seesaw Law

Hop off, hop on

This is the law

of every seesaw:

You must fall, so I may rise,

and to lift you -

I must fall.

 

It takes two to tango,

It takes two to play,

if the seesaw must

swing at all.

 

The tilting is fun,

the jolting is fine,

the seesaw is happy

If we stay in line -

 

splitting the ups

and sharing the dips -

rocking the seesaw,

taking turns to fall.

 

If you let go

And drop to the earth -

To seesaw you high,

I'll give my all.

A wonderful metaphor to describe how two sides of a relationship must balance each other out.
When one is down the other needs to help that significant other rise from the pain and vice-versa.
