Here comes the rain, like a woman gone insane. The sky
is a vacant slate, yet slowly gathering weight. Grey clouds stretching taut, too
swollen, too fraught, seem to writhe in pain.
The breeze has been strong, holding its breath for
long. Puffy, downcast and blue, as if in the throes of a flu, with something to
wheezing akin, it strains to hold it all in.
All signs say the same. It will be a downpour, true to
its name. Every gauge foretells it from the start. Each brimming pot threatens
to crack and fall apart.
The rain is coming to pound, the beaten bastions of an
earth, half drowned. All the pumps faltering in the flood, like bloated hearts,
purging water with blood.
And so the rain, with no restraint, will drain the
skies, drenching the lanes, drumming the panes in glum refrain, here comes the
rain, like a woman gone insane.
We need a flood to cleanse the filth on this planet of ours. If only the downpour could wash all evil away. Dear DIVYA, there is a feast of internal rhyme here as well as fine imagery.
Here comes the rain again - The Eurythmics. Great song. I’m a fan of Annie Lennox.

Oddly enough, as chaotic and unruly as the rain may be, I find peace and comfort within its sound. Although to be fair, I like all weather (as long as it isn't disastrous, e.g., a hurricane). Love your beautiful writing like always take care :)

I posted a poem titled "Wish" and it's supposed to be a concrete poem, but copying it from Google Slides took away its shape so I just opted to divide it into stanzas.

The weather is just the weather as I always say. How we react to it depends on the person we are and how sensitive we are to its changing mood. Rain has never bothered me at all. It’s only when it is accompanied by strong, persistent winds with possible flash flooding that one really starts to worry. Surely you would prefer a monsoon beginning in June over hellish heat that melts your silver spoon? Then again……..some of us know your moods better.
A box of Irish Breakfast tea says that the sun will return sooner rather than later.
A creative piece, nicely internally rhymed, that captures your personal mood very well.
Internal rhymes work so well. Insanity can be for a day, it can be forever.
Really ugly weather can definitely produce sour moods that make us feel crazy.
But at least the Rain in Spain stays mainly on the plane where it belongs.

Thank you so much, my friend. This rain isn't pretty and really dampens the mood.
