Another day, another shooting it appears. I am not up to date with the incident behind this poem, but I bet you don't have to be a genius to know where this has most likely occurred.
When idiots would rather pay homage to an out-of-date amendment in preference to preserving life, then personally, I have little sympathy for those involved. You can fly your flags at half-mast until the cows come home, but those slaughtered will never do so again, and it's those that refuse to change the law in relation to the ownership of guns that should take most of the blame.
The second and third stanzas are particularly strong with the references to a God who seems to have given up on the world he created and appears to have lost interest in the careless inhabitants that cohabit his realm. Impressive writing in these lines.
Alas, the flags will fly at half-mast, the tears will flow, politicians will wipe their hands of the incident and tomorrow all will be forgotten. Until the next gun goes off in anguish....rinse, wash, repeat.
A hard hitting poem...for some.

Exactly as you said, I was reading the same predictable stuff being said by all the politicians and public figures. This must be the millionth time. My own country is as bad, if not worse. Rapes and murders, dowry burnings are now things taken very causally everywhere here. My guess is that God is fed up too. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful visit.
Another shooting. A shock to me but not a surprise. They cling to a white elephant in a room for ages

D., I will be 80 in a few weeks, and I swear I have never seen things this bad. The Catholic Church massacre in Minneapolis was the worst yet. You don't need to explain who the god described in this one is. This is one god to whom I shall not pray.

This was such a tipping point. Praying children slain...what kind of intercession is that....unless its satan interceding and it certainly seems he's doing it now.
I agree with you, that its never been so bad, even when every tragic killing of innocents, anywhere is painful beyond compare.
I wish God would turn the channel and quit just watching the Catholic schools play football.
"Pretty caskets"...Amen to that, my friend.

I live in close proximity of a school zone, and today during my daily walk, I noticed the flag in front of the school at half mast. It was like taking a punch to the chest, as I watched these elementary kids boarding their buses for home. How is it, that these two children that were murdered, went to school and never returned home, that while kneeling in prayer, their lives were taken in the blink of an eye? God only knows, we need more than prayer!

Children kneeling in prayer...that's just what kills the soul with all its beliefs. This incident was just a tipping point. I plead with our Almighty Lord to hear us. 🙏❤️
appreciate your grief concerning the plight especially of the innocents and join you in prayer for help but I cast not the blame on God but on the little gods who given the gift of free will chose to use it to fill their coffers with greedy gains, embellish their surroundings in golden glitz, or brag to world leaders about their self gratifying mementos. God in His free has allowed man to exercise his free will but has also shown a self sacrificing love and has asked man to do likewise. The sadness is man often selfishly ignores the invitation and then we witness the hellish fruit of their rejection . - enjoyed your work - carl

I agree with you, whole heartedly - Not God but those on earth who think they're god are to blame for such darkness. Sadly, their hubris, egoes and greed are killing the innocents while they continue to embellish their surroundings and brag about their fake achievements - just as you said.
