The Phantom Mask

After a temporary pause from writing I decided to get back into the habit with a short poem which explores the concepts of creativity, motivation and the forces behind writing and living.

When you are the abyss

and it stares into you,

what can it become?

Could it become the canvas

that saves you

Redemption? 

Could it be the emptiness

that moves you...

to create something of extreme beauty? 

You are in a dark place

but it all came from darkness
