Fidelity

Fidelity

A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen
"

A poem dedicated to all those who believe in romance and a special thank you to Y.S. for inspiring me to write this poem.

"
I fell under this grand delusion
  Happiness equates to freedom
    Every bond, an unnecessary hindrance
Lose yourself in a series of moments
With no real developments
  Building a narrative of...
    Pleasure in chemistry and biology
      Isolated ecstasy

But it took you walking out on me
to teach me the idiocy,
                                  misery

Of this philosophy

For I realise that it is essential
to be bound and bind another

For I realise that it is not the thread
but the tapestry that matters

I will try to open my heart
and find some sort of meaning

Embracing love and warmth,
fidelity
