Wanting WanderlustA Poem by Thomas Emile VaughenA poem which, hopefully, will resonate with anyone wanting something more than an unremarkable existence.
Each day, sort of waiting for something to happen
Never did possess a very strong sense of carpe diem So I sit, like no god damn good poet before me, who would get up, go out and grab life by the balls, If needs be I endeavor to adventure; I long to roam, through fields, streets, cities, all very alien to me I want to take in every experience and savour my surroundings... but I don't want enough And so I need my wants to be something more, a call to arms, galvanizing me, propelling me into this future of Latin suns and Nordic moons Bars in Brasil, learning languages in Tokyo, Moscow Can i not be so responsible? Can I cut the chord, so to speak? And just live recklessly If not for a little while © 2018 Thomas Emile Vaughen |
