Eyes Like YoursA Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen
With eyes
like bayonets You butcher my heart You render it a bloody mass, of tissue Flesh Again Beating barely, on the floor So that I may sink lower than before And that good gone all was is For a heart that's no more, leaves me with what? My animalistic nature, deeply depraved? Something worse than lust, though An anxious longing left unsated You're miraculous and you're murderous, my love With eyes like yours Leaving after the loss, inflicted Wounds which won't heal Masochistic I still can't bring myself to go Eyes like yours
