VisibilityA Poem by Thomas Emile VaughenA short poem exploring the conflict between wanting to make the most of the modern/digital world whilst wanting to maintain a degree of privacy and autonomy.
Somehow, someway, we
manage to stay in .our. land of shadows Where sunlight ceases to reach, us and seldom do strangers see .us. What are we, miscreants vagabonds; really? Out of sight and out of sync Menacing So their implied agency - they think for .our. secret world A malignancy Visibility Such a crucial feature of a transparent society Our land of shadows, but for how long? When .we. face the charge of digital degeneracy, deviancy We might as well be faceless... to /them/
