Resurrection in Spring

Resurrection in Spring

A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen

April clarity is evasive
Hail hitting pitiful pavements
A rather sorrowful spring thus far

Lapses in the weather
Wonder whether my mood
follows blazing blues and dark,
dreary days

In a daze,
drudgery in the quest
to keep  on  going

Speak spring, speak

Sow seeds of summer
in human veins and blood
Hear the beating of a dormant heart

Fly with flock
To lift this frame
High
No free fall

Blossoms blown into mud,
not me

Not in the cold, sombre earth

Spring, unshackle me
Bless the bones
Bring new life

A hoisted cross,
no time lost

Resurrection
