RescYou

RescYou

A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen

I was death, in a moment of despair
I was misery and a gun cocked, pressed against my head
I didn't care

And then I was life, as you looked up at me
I began to breathe more easily
The desperation withered and I started to repair

Now I care

I was lost and feeling kinda lonely
My fortunes fled and luck had bled, was stuck in bed
I was a mess

And then a smile grew
since loving you, tenderly, saw me saved
I was blessed
