Today I volunteered at a thrift store
I was tasked with putting books out for sale When I spotted a collection of books on English literature I couldn't help but give them a premium place I constructed a narrative from this Maybe the books were donated by a retired professor Who had animated many a disaffected student He had injected their dreary worlds with tales that would enrich them By selling on his books to a fresh faced teen... that was maybe eager to do a little research on what they'd be encountering this summer when then turned up to university Perhaps I'd married two kindred souls Perhaps their lives touched, momentarily That was the work of my hands today I can rest I've done good
