A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen
"

A read in time saves nine

"
So take one look at the words in my book
and tell me the damage is not too much
You've seen worse things in the permanence
of print "And you wouldn't wanna edit, anyway"

Tell me the scars might make us who we are
but if it wasn't for the fights we'd endured
Would we ever have matured?

When I'm wind and rain, downpours in the drain
to you it's all the same Cause you've seen
so many storms And the clouds clear up
It's about promising not to give up

Our misfit hearts might run very far
but they know where we are
They will always, always get us back home
