A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen

If we're blessed, perhaps we'll wear faces into one another
And your smile beams on my lips
My mangled muscles contorted into the unfamiliar
Lucrative exchange of something
beyond the numbing beige buildings
Human, and set for life
