Book of Sorrows i

A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen

I been nursin' biblical wounds,
Moses parting my flesh
leading out the better being
within

I stand with you that are lying
low, bound for the ground
Sobbing, pleading with yourselves...
just let me be better

I do not want to be king of crowns
or glimmer of jewels
I want to rediscover my heart

And find it beating
