Book of Ineffables

Book of Ineffables

A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen
"

< CAUTION: READ AT YOUR OWN PERIL >

"
I've been walking through the books and songs
that I love, trying to latch on to something
invisible as heaven above See I've been trying
to find a trace of a better me inside my face
If I try to cry and scream and shout, do you think
that'll let it out?

I'm toddler scared, little child lost -
because I can't quite reach myself after all this loss

The dread that I can barely speak,
is that I don't know what it means anymore
to be (me)
