Fractions and Theorems

Fractions and Theorems

A Poem by Thomas Emile Vaughen

The heart does not deal in
fractions or theorems, is not a whiteboard
for your equations No formula...
only the truth of what is there
and what is still to grow

How frightening

Like nature is frightening,
as lightening breaks the sky,
heard in thunder what has died...
ever unknowable ends,
beginnings

and mists that conceal
the sheer scope of all that is
