Only One Is MineA Poem by Thorne EmpireI fight a hundred battles, But only one is mine, Drowning in their madness, I lose myself in time.
I’m holding back my demons, While they take their toll, Trying to breathe through the chaos, But I’m losing all control.
Every scar I bear is someone else’s cry, I keep their voices loud while I stay silent. I feel the pressure growing, I’m fading fast, I have built this life of sacrifice, a prison made to last.
I wear the weight of worlds that aren’t mine to bear, A shield for broken dreams, a soul laid bare. I try to catch my breath, but I keep sinking low, Caught in these endless fights that ain't my own.
A hundred wars, but none I choose, I fight their fires, but I lose; One battle’s mine, just one to claim, A nameless fire I can not tame.
What’s left when I’ve given it all? When I’ve answered every call? I put out all their fires, But who’s gonna put out mine?
I’m lost in a flame of their grief, While my own pain remains a thief. Where’s the one battle that’s mine to fight? When I’m fading out of sight...
And I’m screaming... But who hears when the world’s already loud? I’m drowning in the silence, But no one asks if I’m alright.
A hundred voices scream, But silence holds the one in me. I fight a hundred battles, But only one is mine… Only one is mine.
And I fight... and I fight... But only one’s mine, Only one’s mine... © 2025 Thorne Empire |
