Scars Run Deep

Scars Run Deep

A Poem by Thorne Empire

I keep my distance, don't come near,
You don't know what you're getting into here.
I wear a smile, but it's just a mask,
Beneath it all, there's too much to ask.

I hide the pieces, I'm breaking inside.
You think you see me, but you don't.
There are parts of me I keep locked away,
I wish I could show you, but I'm too afraid.

Don't you get too close, don't let me in.
My scars run deep, it's more than skin.
You don't want to see the things I hide,
I don’t want you falling in this fractured mind.

I’ve been down this road before,
Where love gets tangled and it leaves you torn.
I keep pushing you away, but you won’t let go.
But trust me; real me, you don’t need to know.

I’m not the one who’s gonna heal your soul,
I’m just a flame that burns out of control.
You think you can save me,
But you’re blind to the fire,
Before the ashes, everything burns brighter.

Don't you get too close, don't let me in.
My scars run deep, it's more than skin.
You don't want to see the things I hide.
I don’t want you falling in this fractured mind.

Don’t you get too close, don't let me in.

My scars run deep, it’s more than skin.

You don’t want to see the things I hide,

I don’t want you falling in this fractured mind.
