Gone Without a Word

Gone Without a Word

A Poem by Thorne Empire

You slipped away without a word,
No goodbye, no final sigh.
Like shadows in the night,
You faded before the morning light.

I begged the heavens, called your name,
But you were gone, and only God knew why.
If love alone could change the tide of fate,
You would still be here, standing by my side.

In life, my heart was yours to keep,
In death, it's torn apart.
For the space you left behind,
No one can fill that part.

The echo of your voice still haunts,
Your shadow lingers; close, yet far.
I search the stars for your sweet face,
But find no answers, only scars.

The moments fade like whispers,
Yet your name still haunts the air.
I reach across the empty dark,
But you’re no longer there.

I loved you through every storm,
And still, I love you now.
Though time moves on, my heart remains,
Bound to you somehow.

It broke my heart to let you go,
But you did not leave alone;
You carried half of me with you,
When Heaven called you home.

The echo of your voice still haunts,
Your shadow lingers; close, yet far.
I search the stars for your sweet face,
But find no answers, only scars.
