Flush It Away

Flush It Away

A Poem by Thorne Empire

Let them talk, let them bark, let them cry,

I was raised to flush s**t, not drown in the lies.

Let it spin, let it sink, let it spiral and fade,

I don’t play with the waste; I just wash it away.

Been down for so long, wore my scars like a brand,

They spit from their mouths, but it’s dust in my hands.

I was taught to let it go, no need to engage,

Flush it down the drain, leave them lost in the waves.

Let them talk, let them hate, let them whisper my name,

I was raised to clean the filth, not play with it.

Drown the dirt, watch it swirl, let it circle and fade,

I don’t play with the waste; I just flush it away.

The weight’s on my chest, but I breathe through the tide,

I send it all down, let it drift out of sight.

You’re talking big? But I’m miles ahead,

Watch them sink slow, while I rise up instead.

Let them yap, let them shout, I don’t flinch at the sound,

I was raised to rise up, not be dragged to the ground.

They acting tough, tryna play the part,

But I don’t hold onto waste; I just flush it away.
