Keeper of the Night

Keeper of the Night

A Poem by Thorne Empire

They call me a beast, yeah, I live in the dark,

Where the wolves run wild, and they tear you apart.

Ain’t no savior, no hero, no knight in a cape,

Just a shadow that’s watching, controlling your fate.

I don’t play by the rules ‘cause the rules don’t apply,

You pray for the angels, but none will reply.

They whisper my name when the night starts to crawl,

The last thing you hear before you take that fall.

Sometimes the world needs a monster,

To keep the other monsters at bay.

I move through the darkness,

To keep you safe.

Blood on my hands but my conscience is clean,

I do what it takes, I was born in between.

Between the devil and death, I don’t flinch, I don’t break,

I don’t sleep, I don’t dream, I keep watch for the evil thats near.

They fear what they see, but they need me alive,

I hunt the hunters just to help you survive.

You don’t have to love me, just stay in your lane,

‘Cause I’m the only thing keeping you safe from the flames.

Sometimes the world needs a monster,

To keep the other monsters at bay.

I move through the darkness,

To keep you safe.

Sometimes the world needs a monster,

To keep the other monsters at bay.

I move through the darkness,

To keep you safe.
