I can jump, and I can dance,

Watch me wiggle when I see your smile!

Tail’s a blur, oh can’t you see,

Every room lights up with me!

I am your sunshine wrapped in fur,

Your little heart with a happy nose,

Give me treats, I will take a seat,

Then paw you once, twice, oh so sweet!

When I am near, the world’s all right,

Chaos turns to pure delight!

Outside we go, the world’s my stage,

A puppy queen at the exploring age!

If I find a stick; don’t you fret,

It’s mine to conquer, my royal set!

'Wait; what’s that sound behind the tree?

A squirrel? Oh, it’s calling me!'

Run run run, we’re off again,

Chasing laughter through the street.

Oh the joy, the leaps, the fun,

Two hearts racing, tails as one.

Except the time you say goodbye…

I tilt my head and try not to cry.

But I understand, you’ve got to go,

I know you’re off to earn that gold,

For toys and snacks (I’ve been told).

So kiss me soft, then be on your way,

(I will guard the house while you are away.)
