MamaA Poem by Thorne EmpireMama, don’t you cry tonight, I see the sorrow in your eyes. Your son must go, I have to fight, To keep our home, to save our skies.
I hear the echoes of our land, The prayers you whispered soft and low. Now war is calling, I must stand, But I’ll come back, please let me go.
So don’t cry, Mama, be strong for me, Hold my wife, hold my baby close. Forgive me, but you taught me love; The olive trees, the desert sand, The city lights shining on this land. And now I fight to keep them free, So they won’t live this pain like me.
I once dreamed of songs and art, Of laughter warm, a peaceful heart. But when they came to strike us down, I had to stand, I had to do what's right.
I still believe in days of peace, When rockets break and wars will cease. But until then, I hold the line, For Israel, for love, for life.
So, Mama dear, forgive my choice, If I fall, hear my voice. In every wind, in every tree, Know your son is always near. © 2026 Thorne Empire |
