"Someday" Creates Disarray...A Story by Thoughts
As I'm doing laundry, I noticed something about myself...I have A LOT of clothes. I have more clothes than I can even wear. I can not wear the same thing for months and still have things that haven't been worn. I don't even have enough dresser/closet space to fit all of the items of clothing I've accumulated over the years. So as a result, when I do laundry, I typically don't even fold them (don't judge me...lol)! The one thing I don't have a problem folding though is my towels. As soon as they come out of the dryer, I fold them and put them up. After putting the towels in the designated closet, I started to think about why that's the only part of my laundry that I treat that way. I came to the conclusion that my towels are the only thing that actually have a place to be put. The linen closet is designed to store things such as linen and towels so naturally, that is where they are put. I relate that to life because a lot of us have things in our lives that "don't have a place" and as a result, our lives are scattered and in disarray! We have so many things going on and the issues of life begin to snowball until we have things tossed everywhere. I know I need to get rid of some of the clothes that I don't even wear anymore but I hold on to them because of the idea that I will wear them "someday". The truth of the matter is that "someday" probably will never come and I will continue to have clothes that don't have a place. What is it in your life that you are holding on to in hopes of "someday"? "Someday" will keep us from having order in our lives. "Someday" will keep us from experiencing that true peace and joy that we all are in search of! The challenge then is to find a place for the things that matter in our lives and get rid of that which only creates messes! Once we do that, we will be able to live a life that has structure, peace and most importantly, no mess!
