A sea in betweenA Poem by ThreadsA cathartic piece, to rest easyAnd there you are, an ocean away Do you have to be an ocean away? I feel these memories and they smell of joy There, petrichor is not quite comparable; for my soul has tasted drought If ever there was Reason that I should be torn in two, been given a foot in the door but slam shut over my shoe given a day my Reason fail me, there I take in queue For now I tell my heart to wane, give time and not pain when yearning would take me to Mars, set down steel and gaze at stars A distance heart would forgive my mind could never -- let live My Sweet those dreams will ever be but dreams For you, I set a candle (its wax will not ebb) in my heart (I set it high) To be seen across seas
