Striving for purpose

Striving for purpose

A Poem by ThreeWrites

I’ve been searching, not to long ago, for a place where time moves so gracefully slow,

Picturing a place where I can move, and mentally grow.

I’ve seen people talk about it, but realized that image hasn’t been shown,

All that’s around me is showing a certain place, so deep below.

That we all hide it, like lights never hit it, and it grows with individual glows, as long as it’s left alone.

Had to get a glimpse, so deep that I dove,

Reached in, and my mind told me, best to just leave it, nobody wants it exposed.

Just waiting, and you’ll see yourself truly erode,

Just waiting for the day when we’re all decomposed, so brutal that you only pick, and poke,

Seeing people say something, that all you can do is choke.

Expecting them to save themselves but they know what they’ve chose.

Seeing the ones who’ve righteously picked the narrow road,

Well that just fills me with hope, no time to change the world, it’s filled with far too many slopes.

But you can always rely on those decent folks,

Who are rich in character, but usually financially broke,

But even those who claim to be woke, get snared in by the devils fiery spokes.

So sit back, enjoy the sight of the coast,

Don’t get overwhelmed, and attempt to lynch for the rope.
