-Fathers Hand-

-Fathers Hand-

A Poem by ThreeWrites

“Fathers Hand”-

A father’s hand should guide and support, leaving his child to the only resort.

Having to praise his father, just before he thanks the lord.

Gracing the day, he was privileged, to receive his chores,

Years after he had cut, his umbilical cord.

Reminds me, his family is the only place, he can freely mourn, Even as they once pushed him out, slammed the door,

Without a meal, because his time they couldn’t afford.

Even as he silently asks for help, yet to a father, is as loud as horns,

A family relationship, is built with stone, and board.

The loss of a fallen one, leaves a hole, only a father can contort, and form,

while his son is mentally torn.

The anguish he feels, will be turn to gratitude, as he thanks for being born, only a father would understand, as he cries for more.

More time with his family, before he leaves to a different shore,

Places to see his father, before he eventually adjourns, and to hope, he’s left nothing for his father to scorn.

But with a proud father, theres nothing left to score.

The winner is clear, that once small child, you use to adore, and his father, that will eventually explain this world.
